Agent of the Neth. Tradg Society

Dear Sir,

Referring you to the contents of my last obedient dated 12th inst. of which enclosed please find presscopy, I have now to own receipt of your favor dated 7th inst.
Concerning your remarks about the sales of the Str Kebon Dalem, I am perfectly satisfied with your declaration that negotiations for the sales of the Str, had been opened previous to the arrival of my letter and I beg therefore to drop this matter entirely. If you succeed in selling the Steamer there, I leave it quite to your fairness what commission you will pay to me.
As I am very anxious to secure me your patronage, I have not hesitated to accept your proposal to sell the goods delivered to me by Mr. Bloem against half the usual charge of commission, but I beg to observe at the same time, that I can do this only exceptionally.
As Mr.Bloem will tell you, the charges of this place are very high and besides bussiness is still very irregular and it requires a great deal of attention and time to effect a sales.

As I am very moderate in my charges, which even do not cover my expenses, I think a commission of 5 % is not to much and this is the first time that I have charged less in my Acct sales.
The money question being there very difficult, I pay myself 1/4% shroffage and though I usually charge only 1 % in Acet sales, I have this time, an account of receiving only half commission, charged you the same shroffage as I actually pay.
Enclosed please find Acct sales of those goods which I have been able to dispose till now and the Nettproceed I have handed over to Mr Bloem with Itsbs 8687. Though the goods have not yet been all delivered and paid for, I have yet accounted for the same, in order to loose not this oportunity of remitting to you the money.
I also have paid to Mr.Bloem Itbs 312 Nettproceed of former Acct sales, which he will hand over to you.
I have still received from Mr.Bloem the following goods
TCB 2103/2233 44 = 200 p Chintzes
? 577/1249 12 bales = 120p asss. camlets
K 1/4  4 case = 100 Blankets
which I shall endeavour to sell as soon and as good as possible for your account.

Of grey shirtings, Taffachell, Cotton, yarn etc as also of Woollen goods large arrivals have taken place and this place is well supplied at present.
Overland I shall give you further information, with respect to this market and remain
Dear Sir
Yours obedt. servt
A.R.Weber

I shall be glad to hear from you that you will allow me 55 commission on those goods left here by Mr.Bloem!
Mr.Bloem has had enormous troubles about the rice and has all in his power to obtain more rice, but in vain. He will no doubt tell you personally more about it.
yours faithfully

AR Weber
