With reference to the enclosed circular of our Mr ARWeber of the 1st inst,
we now beg to continue our market reports.
Concerning your goods, we are sorry to say, that we have not yet been able
to effect any sales, the whole attention of the japanese dealers being
directed to cotton yarn, cotton and grey shirtings, and in other
manufactured goods, nearly no transactions have taken place.
For Cottonyarn, prizes have advanced considerably and Itzbs 740- Itzbs 750
per pic would be obtainable to day. Good Shanghai cotton is saleable at
Itzbs 140 per pic and grey Shirtings 7 1/4 lb we could sell at Itzbs 14
perp. Turk. red Colth, if of bright red color of 2 1/3 catt: is saleable at
Itzbs 15 per p: and Taffachell. from Itzbs 11 till 14 per p: accoding to
samples.
In Woollens very little can be done at present.
scarlet Camlets are in good demand and saleable at Itzbs 74 perp
Scarlet Long Ells are also wated and we can recommend you same shipments,
which would sell here no?? at Itzbs 44 perp:
Lastings, black and assorted Camlets, black Orleans, black Cloth, Blankets
etc are rather dull and only saleable at low prizes.
Sugar remains in good demand and saleable at former quotations
Nailrod and Bar Iron would be saleabe at Itzbs 15 -16 per pic.
In Arms very litte is doing Smith &Westons revolver are saleabe by small
quantities at ITzbs 80 perp ( for No2) with 300 catridges per piece
Rice Str Ocean Queen and Runymede have arrived here few days ago, to take a
cargo of rice from this place to Hakodate, where Japan rice is said to have
fetched Itzbs 22 per pic: The govenment has stopped all supplier from the
interior to this place in order to stop the export from here and rice is
consequently much dearer here as in the vicinity of this place.
It is still doubtful whether the charterers of the two vessels will be able,
though they have a government permit, to get rice here.
In other produces nothing can be done on account of the exorbitants demands.

PS Str Osacca from Nagasaki is still in port and brought same goods
consigned by M.Bauduin to Messr Adrian Jr and van Casteel. According to
the terms of your last letter, we hope however that you will continue to
