Agent of the Neth. Trading society

Dear Sir,

Since my last obedient dated 1st inst, I have not had the pleasure to hear from you.
For your 200 p Prints Itzbs 10 pp have been offered to me, but I shall try to allow a somewhat higher prize, as the goods have to bear at present higher charges as those sold previous. If I find it however impossible to obtain more I shall sell these 200 p.
For Blankets there is no demand yet or only a speculation and offers are therefore rather low yet.
Cotton yarn remains in good demand and first arrivals would fetch high prizes. Of grey shirtings 2000 p are said to have arrived over land on horseback and are sold I am told at Itzbs 17 per piece Kinsats. However I think to be able to sell a few thousand pieces more at Itzb 12 per p(gold) but a higher prize against each will be hardly obtainable.

On account of the Japanese Matsuri and Bong festivities, business in general is very dull and only few transactions have taken place.
I sold:
scarlet Camlets at Itzbs68 per p and a small rest at Itzbs 70 per p.
black Camlets at Itzbs 58 per p, but there is no further demande at present
black Lastings 30" 30 yds at Itzbs 58 per p good enquiry and no stock left

assorted Camlets not wanted at present
a small lot of 100 pieces with 20 pieces?
scarlet and black I sold at Itzbs 51 1/4 per p
Yarn ass: Camlets are dfficult of sales on account of the bad colors
black Velvets common quality  fetched Itzbs 36 perp. and 1a quality Itzbs 42 p
other sales a few fancies excluded has not taken place.
Scarlet Thibets are much in favor here. I sold a small lot assorted Thibets with blue, scarlet, white, sky blue, etc 29 " & 32 yds at Itzbs 40perp and can recommend you to send about 200 pieces, but the usual breadth of 45" and 40 yds would be much preferable

and would fetch a comparatively higher prize.
In arms and metals nothing has been done, but for Smith & Weston's Revolver with 300 cartridges is some demand. These arms I sold some time ago at Itzbs 74 perp.
In Produces nothing new. Most articles are still to high in prize to admit the export.
Rice is quoted Itzbs 9 1/ against Niboes and Itzbs 7 1/2 - 8 per p against silver Itzboes, but little is here at present and supplies from the interior of the country are stopped by the government. This years crop is now said to turn out most favorable and cheep rice prizes may be expected this year.
The government has opened here at present a bonded warehouse and grants insurance on all goods stored threin at the following premiums viz: if stored per
1 month 37 1/2 cts for $100 value
2 month 62 1/2 cts do.
3 month 87 1/2 cts do.
4 month $1 do.
12 month $2 do.

which will perhaps induce you to take up again your shipment to this place.

I am

Dear Sir

A. R. Weber
