Dear Sir,
Enclosing duplicate of my last I beg now to advise the sale of 48 pcs Red
Long Ells @ 8 3/4 Rios p.pce – half cash and balance to be taken delivery
of in 30 days: all which I trust will meet with your approval.
As you quote Palembang Cotton @ $22 and as I can find no buyers for this
article here @ R/S 27 (Mr. Mees‘ limit) I would ask, if this price is
unobtainable, your lowest limit of sale.
Your favor of the 25th ult. Leaves the matter of limit of sales entirely
to my own judgement, but I shall be under obligations to you if you will
qualify this bu fiving me own particular instructions say at how much
above Yokohama current prices you are willing to sell. Of course I shall
do all I can to obtain prices which will show a profit: but the greater
part of your Goods being Woollens are very difficult of sale in this
market and prices offered an almost in every case considerably below cost
ladi down.
Cotton Yarn ( Nos 16/24 only) + Grey Shirtings are salable here in small
quantities: but I cannot yet recommend a shipment. Grey Eagle Grey 6 3/4
catty shirtings are quoteable at Boos 14 p.pce. and a lot of 500 a 1000
pce would probably find sale in 1 p 1 1/2 rios at this price.
Awaiting the receipt of your further favors,
I remain, Dear Sir
Yours truly
Brown
