Walk the Jomon World & Fun History Experience

2020年12月24日

The Japanese archipelago is blessed with a warm climate and four distinct seasons. The Jomon period began about 15,000 years ago and ended about 2500 years ago and is characterized by hunting and gathering in permanent
settlements. This exhibition, accompanied by commentary from the musuem’s curators, focuses on the Jomon people, from their globally unique food gathering economy to the technology they developed in response to turn of the seasons.
After experiencing the Jomon world, you can try your hand at making magatama beads like the ones the Jomon people actually wore! And of course, you can take your finished magatama beads home with you!
